I am so excited to see this recipe~ my 18 year old has to stay away from dairy and nuts for 3 months after an allergic reaction ended him up in the ER the week before Christmas in order to "clear out his system" before testing. Needless to say, it's been a rough couple of weeks for him. One of his favorites is hot cocoa & the hot chocolate rice and/or soy milk wasn't going to cut it~ even with my dairy free homemade marshmallows! I am going to make this for him to have it ready when he gets up this morning~ thank you so much!!!

Thank you for this! My child said it would be the best day of his life if he could drink cocoa with his friends on pajama day at school. Now, I can make that happen. Thanks for sharing to help my family!

Thank you so much! I love hot cocoa more than anything else for a treat. I recently found out I have a wheat intolerance or celiac disease; and the small amount of whey in my cocoa was causing me problems. I am so glad I found your easy recipe I can make with products I already have on hand.

I'm so grateful!

This recipe ROCKS!! It is better than any traditional hot chocolate I've had - and allergy free too. Our family can't thank you enough!

Awesome! My husband's allergic to whey protein. My kids couldn't taste the difference between this and the hershey mixes. Thank you!

I've only just come across your blog, and love checking it out. Will have to curtail the surfing, though, as it's 4am! But I'm so glad to have this recipe, I've been thinking about coming up with an allergy-friendly hot cocoa option as well, so this will be great to try out on the kiddies. Thanks!

Thanks so much Jane!! That is fantastic!! All the kids in my son's class enjoyed the cookies and never questioned they were allergen free. In fact, many kids asked for 2nd and 3rd helpings! Jamie, I've been right there with you! But this hot cocoa is so easy to make, isn't it?

Kelly, I just wanted to say thanks again for your wonderful recipes. I made your sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies for my daughter's Halloween party today. I was able to make something for both my daughter (peanut allergy) and her friend who has an egg and milk allergy. My daughter is getting used to not always being able to eat the snacks that some parents bring which I suppose is a good thing, but my heart breaks a little every time. The girls had safe snacks for the party which just makes me smile.

Have you tried coconut milk by so delicious? The vanilla one with cocoa powder and sugar in equal parts makes great cocoa! Love it. Nice and rich. Thanks so much for taking the time to share all of your recipes with us!
