I tried this recipe for the first time for a dinner party.
My 19 year old daughter who does not often eat desserts came back for seconds.
It was a really big hit.

I can't do wheat either-what do you think will happen if I use my gluten free all purpose flour mix and xantham gum in this recipe? Everything else looks so good, that I would hate to have high expectations and have the key ingredient be that flour!

Thanks SOOO much everyone for your sweet comments! I'm so pysched ya'll loved it as much as we did! We made this again in honor of Michael's one month bday! Yum!! Michelle, I am so sorry to hear of your 13 year old's disease..a HUGE kuddos to you for following your gut and getting additional testing. We rarely eat processed foods mostly because of my son's allergies, too, so I totally understand where you're coming from. That's why it was so important for me to create easy but fabulous recipes so everyone could enjoy them...especially those with food allergies. Of course teens and tweens especially want to eat "fun" food...and nothing makes me happier than to hear that your daughter can have yummy treats now. Truly makes my day!! Thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you!!! This was incredible. My 13 year old dd has a rare disease called Gastroenteritis Eosinphiliac Disease. My research has shown most of the children with this have food allergies. We started noticing that milk caused her INCREDIBLE amount of pain, as well as processed foods. Her specialist had her on 5 medicines (13 pills) a day. But my gut said the was more that could be done, naturally. So we went to a highly respected allergist and found out she is allergic to dairy, casein, whey and eggs. She also can't have processed foods and most fruits/vegs/meats have to be organic. She and I were at a lost. What in the heck did we feed her? How does a teenager handle not eating the "fun" stuff her friends can? My friend told me about your website. THANK YOU!!!! I cannot wait for my dd to get home from track to see what I have baked up for her. Her sisters (allergy-free) had to be told to leave some of it for Brianna...lol. I can't wait to bake more of your recipes. My dd is going to be overjoyed!

Kelly,
We made the pudding cake for dessert tonight and it was a big hit. My husband who is ultra picky said, "This lady knows how to cook!" My favorite thing about making your recipes is how excited my son, who is allergic to dairy, eggs, and nuts, gets over picking which recipe from your blog to make. He is excited to try different goodies that he has never been able to eat. It makes me realize what a trooper he really has been through the years making do with "safe treats" while others around him have whatever is being provided. I have always made sure he had his own treats, but even with that he has felt the sting of not being able to try what others are having. Thank you for opening up new experiences for him! We eagerly anticipate your next post!

Just an update - I made this Sunday as planned and it was a hit! We couldn't wait for it to cool so the pudding could set so it was more like a hot chocolate sauce with our cake and ice cream but no one complained as they scraped their bowls clean. My hubby couldn't wait to have some again last night - reheat in the microwave and it is just as delicious!

Kelly, This sound wonderful! We're having our neighbor over for dinner Sunday and I think this will be the perfect dessert. BTW, I just pulled my last batch of your Chewy Double Chocolate Cookes (from your cookbook) out of the oven. Sooooo Good!! I ate 3 before they cooled off!
